As we should have most people back from holidays, I'd like to propose another car detailing meet-up as few months ago in this thread.

I was thinking about 2 options:

1. Meet for 1-3hrs on a car wash to maybe work on some detail, exchange thoughts, experiences, help with issues or...
2. Arrange for a professional training session in one of car detailing centers for a group if anyone would be interested

For example in Oftringen (Carpolish.ch), they offer training on whatever topic we want for ca. 400chf incl. products, meal and drinks (the price might come down if there is a group).

If anyone interested in option #2 but has another garage to recommend, I'm also all in.

Any thoughts?

Happy to join for option one ... ideally with a coffee add on.

Or Oftringen on Saturdays from 10h30 to 13h30. I know, too specific timing but that's family schedule

About the car, it's a filthy daily driver cabrio. The interior is perennially covered in dust and pollen...and I try to counter that. Leather also needs care. Also, put unreasonable effort into keeping the wheels free of brake pad dust.

Well, ideally you have some of the following: V6-V12, R6, VR6 engine from the 90s (well before the regulations choked the displacement), where the cold start almost causes heart attack as well as goose bumps larger than pimples of a 16yr old teenager.

If not, even Fiat Panda will do. It's not about the car. At least I cannot dictate what goes what not, having a 4yr old, modern German-made 2.0TFSI family wagon... (life priorities for now).

Would Car Wash... also do?

I know it might be tricky to have all people aligned for the same time and place, but worst case we could plan both and people could choose.

Sure, car wash also possible on Saturdays. Preferably on Aargau or canton ZH around Schlieren or Spreintenbach.

I've revived this thread as it has a less confusing title than another one ("Self service car detailing garage"), where we also talked about detailing and stuff.

So... Before the next spring holidays which start around April/May we have 2 Saturdays to choose: 15th and 22nd of April.. Probably depends on where you live holidays might start differently.

Anyone interested in any of the two dates to dust off the rides after winter (if not already done so)?

Some geolocations based on previous responses (details to be arranged):

1. anything around Schlieren/Spreitenbach
2. anything within 30mins drive around Zurich
3. https://www.waschpark-embrach.ch/ - relatively new, large wash area with McDonald and Coop fuel station around the corner to grab a coffee

Let's see who's in and we'll hopefully arrange sth that works for most.

I'm interested but will have to check with the wife. Possibly for both of the dates (i would prefer the better weather day) and for option #3.

Hey, April 15th, preferably Spreintenbach. Sadly, Embrach is like 1 hour driving from my place.

A month ago I stopped by Carpolish in Oftringen. I got a new brush for the wheels because I forgot the last one in the car wash. So, happy to also go to Oftringen.

Now I got a cold and I'm just watching the things I'm doing wrong while cleaning the car. Certainly, I may have scratched the wheels by brushing while the dirt is still there. So, from the guy that brings back to life old BMWs mit kapputmotor...

By any chance do you have a place to recommend for the meetup around Dietikon or Spreitenbach?

For the date, we have to move it to a sunnier weekend. I know the forecast can change but for now it doesn't look nice. So if it is bad we have for now the 22nd April.

As for the cars... bring whatever you want to talk about and have interest in detailing: car, van, boat, motorbike... As always it's rather about people than the product!

Noise Bombs for Road Hogs
