Land Rover / Range Rover garage near Basel?

The garage in Germany that I've been using to maintain my Land Rover for many years has, unfortunately, closed its doors. I'm reluctant to go back into the main dealer network, because my car is pushing 15 years old and anything more substantial than an oil change is likely to exceed the value of the car at this stage if we stick to Emil Frey. But there are still systems on the car that I don't trust to a general mechanic, so I'd prefer to find someone who knows these cars and their faults pretty well.

I'm looking for an independent specialist within reasonable driving distance of Basel -- French side or German side are both fine. If anyone has any recommendations, very grateful to hear them.

Re: Land Rover / Range Rover garage near Basel?

Hi ,

I don't have a suggestion, but just an example:
I bough my newer Land Rover from these guys : CARPOINT GmbH, Schildgasse, Rheinfelden, Germany
There is a big auto KFZ center close to them --> and before selling they told me I needed to do the classic oil, filter and brake fluid change. I asked them to make me a quick estimation: was 700 euros
Asked an acquaintance of mine here that goes to a private garage how much it would cost me: 800 francs.
You might be better off in Italy, because France is also quite expansive.
Good luck, maybe it's time for an upgrade or just do like me, drive it to your home country, leave it there for as much time is needed and fly back and drive it again here (doing a full tech inspection, offcourse)
