Oldhand or was that Oldwoman....
Put your foot back in you rmouth......I assume that you make this trip back to the North of England on a regular basis, weekly, monthly or ? and that is why you are bleating on about the removal of this service...unless i'm mistaken wasn't this your first post to this thread.......typical ..sit back and observe and then jump on someone with insults...very grown up of you...
Not only are you throwing insults at me but also at my work colleagues, do you know any of us, I think not...Why don't you crawl back under the stone that you emerged from.

MJ
You obviously just don't get the tone of your posts.

Re: Easjet Basel-Luton route cancelled?

I called them up and if you're rebooking a flight with another firm, it's possible to get a refund *and* the difference between the flights refunded. You need to follow this link, fill in all the details and send them proof of the new booking.

Does it matter from which Swiss Airport you depart, Basel, Geneva or Zurich blah blah rhubarb
Clearly you have never had to travel with a small child - and despite what the Swiss may think, foreigners do not hatch out of pods, we have families that we would like to visit from time to time and we also like the occasional holiday.

Having to add a long train journey to the other end of the country to the hassle of negotiating an airport really does not help matters.

And your comments about EJ checkin being trouble free are absolutely inaccurate. The last time we had to travel through Speke airport using DifficultJet we had our 4-month-old in tow. We arrived 2 hours before take-off so we would be able to check-in and take our son through to the departure area so we could feed him. In the end, the EJ checkin computer had packed in and the staff had no clue about how to check-in manually. We ended up standing in a check-in queue for 2 hours with a slowly dehydrating baby.

From now on we use Swiss everytime - and if you book enough in advance they are sometimes cheaper than EJ.

Cheers,
Nick

Re: Easjet Basel-Luton route cancelled?

We were traveling to Basel from Liverpool, however that is now not possible. We will hopefully fly to Geneva from somewhere in North England, East Midlands or Edinburgh, what price would a mini bus cost from Geneva to Basel and the return journey for 12 people? Or would it be cheaper using the railway?

I never thought I'd say this, but I hope the swashbuckling Michael O'Leary takes note of the massive gap in the market EasyJet's departure will leave.
Looks like my prayers were partly answered, Ryanair service to Stanstead commences 23rd December.
