Re: driving license

If you're asking whether your daughter can convert her UK license once she gets it to a Swiss one, the answer is yes - here is an entire thread on driving licenses info:

[Drivers licence] Conversion and questions

but note that she will need to "turn in" her UK license for them to issue her a Swiss license.

Re: driving license

she will not be allowed to convert the UK licence as she is already Swiss-resident. So she'll go through the process twice with associated costs, etc.

To be more specific, she'd have to live outside of Switzerland for one full year for her to be able to exchange a foreign driving license for a Swiss one. I know a few Swiss people who got their driving licenses while on student exchange in North America (age 16-17), but they all ensured they were out of the country for one full calendar year, otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to do this.

Re: driving license

It was a favorite trick for Swiss residents to go abroad and get a foreign driving license. The Swiss authorities do not like such shortcuts. Inevitably, there will be discussions and explanations demanded when attempting conversion to a Swiss license.
