Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

I second that. I bought my first bike some 5 weeks ago, a Yamaha XVS650 which I haven't even began customizing. I'm up for any weekend plans at anytime in the next few weeks.

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

I am in the UK at the moment, I drove my R1100GS over a month ago, and am working here on and off for the next 4 months. I still have my R1200GS in Zug and would still like to go for rideouts over the weekends that I am home.

I am off to the USA this weekend (28th July) for two weeks holiday. but will be available after that..... anyone want to go for a ride in August (last two weekends) ??

Richard

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

Someone needs to create an event - it looks like there is a bit more enthusiasm lately so maybe we might get something off the ground. Any volunteers?

Hi all,

Riding CBR900 Firebalde. Location GVA. I'm OK to join any ride if calendar and itinerary permit. Could have a short-trip as a start.

My ride:

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

More interest coming from me, but a) the bike is in a container somewhere on the Atlantic and b) I wouldn't know where to go. If there is a place to rent and someone to tell me where to go (be nice y'all) I'm ready.

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

[quote=Michael_B;80218]Hi All,

For many years I've been a keen motorcyclist (currently a KTM Adventure 950), often up for a ride-out at weekends, either solo or with my better half as pillion. In the past few years we've done quite a few trips down to SoF/Spain on the bike. A couple of weeks ago, with a visiting English friend, we rode from Geneva to Nice (Route des Grandes Alpes) on the Saturday, and then back up from Cannes to home (Route Napoléone N85)... 1'100 kms in two days (including a dozen big cols on the way down) was a little tiring but great fun and it was sunny all the way bar the final hour and a bit. My friend's Multistrada even managed to keep up with the KTM on occasions .
Here we are at the top of the Col de la Bonnette (2802m) at around 1900 on the Saturday:

Wow what a picture. My husband was dying to get over to Switzerland to bike this summer. He was supposed to take a bunch of other bike riders with him, but couldn't find time. He has a BMW K 1200R

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

Last weekend had my short ride-out in St. Cergue. Saw quite a number of motorcyclists up and down from St. Cergue. Had a cup of coffee up there (but can't remember the name). It was an interesting ride. Plan to go again next weekend.

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

Yep, very interested in rideouts. Based in Zurich with SuperDuke 990 and Adventure 990, a bit of orange blooded.

jetandmae, I have been riding round Vevey for the past fornight on the Adventure, beautiful area. I would suggest the following trip, take the autoroute from Vevey to Bulle. Ride through Bulle towards Aigle, via Chateau D'Oex / Gstaad / Rossiniere, from Les Mosses to Aigle it's downhill with huge curves.

Any KTM owners in Zurich area, which garage/shop d'you go to - might do my headlights conversion at Erne's not sure yet, they do plenty conversions as they are main Triumph dealer?

Ciao

Philippe

Thun may be a bit far???
If you plan to go for a drive, you need to plan on atleast 3-4 hours to even enjoy some of the day. Thun is a skip from Zurich.

Maybe we can organize an Eastern Switzerland group ride. I'm in Grabs, close to Liechtenstein. I'm sure somewhere in between is a short ride for both of us. Anyone else around St. Gallen/Chur ?

Re: Anyone into motorcycle riding?

Hi Caleb

So close, yet so far away! I am in Buchs... Weather and business permitting we could do a trip or two this summer. I know of a couple easy routes from two to four hours long. Of course there is the five-pass trip which took 13 hours.

Of course I put my bike up for sale, if it sells then I am only four wheelin' it.

Keep in touch, if the opportunity arises then we can do a ride.

Yeah, I know we're neighbors. I even tried to reach you some time ago when I bought my first digi-SLR . If I don't get invited to a colleagues' this Sunday (it's pending confirmation) I'll give you a ring/e-mail.
