I am moving house on Monday (17/11) which is very short notice, also for me.
I am planning to hire a van and was wondering if there is a possibility of reserving a parking space in front of the house I am moving in.
Is there an official procedure for it?

As far as I know you need to contact your local police department, but that's in Switzerland and it looks like you are in France.

In Switzerland, yes, go to the Gemeinde or the police, and you can pay to have reserved parking signs put up in front of your place. Needs some minimum notice, and incurs an admin fee, but can be done.

However, your location says you are in France, and I don't know what the possibilities are in France....

It depends on the community you live in. In each community (Gemeinde in German) there's a Kreiswacht, who's a local police officer. Make a request for a parking place for your given date; they're also responsible for parking fines, should you need to approach someone over one.

It also depends if your space is in a white or blue zone. Eg, 2 reserved white zone spaces for one day (7am - 5pm) in Seefeld, Zurich, costs CHF97. (Not sure how they calculate such a number, but it's a deal).

During those times, the police will tow away anyone using your space uninvited, as there'll be signs in place. You're getting more than a simple reservation, they actually will look out for you
