The trick I use is to heat the Vignette up with a hair dryer.
Prevention is better than curing. Before sticking the new vignette on your windscreen, stick it to a pair of jeans first. It'll pick up fluff and make it far less sticky and much easier to remove.

Better still, stick it to a large, stretched-out piece of clingfilm and then using a razor blade trim off the excess.
Voila, a portable vignette that sticks to your windscreen by static cling as opposed to glue.

This is a favorite trick of some people (no EU nationalities mentioned) who come Switzerland to ski for a week. This way they can share the Vignette among several friends/family members.

I have heard (urban legend?) that this is illegal and if caught you will be fined as if you do not have a Vignette. The fine is CHF 100 + the CHF 40 for the Vignette.

Good luck if you try it.

It's not an urban legend. There's a prescription somewhere that the vignette must be solidly attached to the vehicle.

It was the easiest way of saying what I wanted to say without actually saying its full of East Europeans. There ive said it.

My this place has changed the last few weeks where has the Humor gone.

No Lob, No Dave A

Im off

Actually, this is quite humorous in itself: you're basically complaining about a group of people from elsewhere.

Maybe Eastern Europeans think Brits smell.

And maybe the Swiss think WE ALL smell!

Personally, I'm never leaving the house again because EVERYONE SMELLS.

It is valid from 01.12.2008 to 31.01.2010.
Thanks - this is very handy to know when you're south of the border.

Funny.
Some of the suggestions sound like those 'TOP TIPS' from the VIZ Magazine.
You remember the ones. Funny.

This has been very useful as we are leaving CH on 30-Jan and don't need to buy another Vignette.

You saved me 40CH which I can use to buy a few glasses of wine at the airport.

Merci

Re: Car Vignette for 2009

I got mine in Denner for 35, and I don't remember spending over 100 on thta particular trip...

And for whoever was criticising shopping at Denner or Aldi, we just had an Aldi open here in Fribourg and the savings on some basic goods are incredible. Stop being such a snob.
