Well I said I couldn't believe manufacturers would go to the hassle etc or putting different stamps on but I have come across some strange legislations etc in my time here so far so just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for the quick reply
If there is a stamp, it wont effect anything about making sure your car is safe and road worthy, which is the only concern.

Re: Where to Find AUTO Parts

I think she means aftermarket "performance" parts, they need papers but otherwise pretty much all is fine otherwise.

Re: Where to Find AUTO Parts

After market performance parts yes but also any part that isn't original on the vehicle. For example different rims or tyres that vary in size by more than 10%, different seats, headlights, a trailer tow ball etc.

Just keep in mind that the check is extremely thorough, not much can slip past these guys.

Cheers

Re: Where to Find AUTO Parts

Thanks for the replies.

In Ireland, most aftermarket parts are never declared to insurance and only things such as HIDs lights and loud exhausts are told to be removed.

I usually only modify a car with original parts, maybe better alloys which were extras when my car was new or a lip kit etc. To anyone that has reported items like these, how much extra is your insurance likely to go up roughly?

And whats the tolerance here for remapping a car?

Re: Where to Find AUTO Parts

any new tips regarding auto parts ?

Every website that I found offers cheap parts, but them always the same exact 35.- for shipping !!! I don't mind on a 100+ order but this time the parts I need are only 10.- ...

Amazon sometime did the trick, but now they don't ship to switzerland 98% of the time

Auto parts shop?

Was at one today. They didn't have the sparkplugs I wanted, so they ordered them for tomorrow.

Doesn't work if your car is sick and borders locked down. Must say though I have bought loads of parts from German ebay. All have been excellent. Genuine NOS Mercedes parts, boxed, hologram, from garage clear out, for slightly more than Chinese, etc. Avoid RUF wheel bearings. They are Chinese! For a couple of Euros more you can get German bearings.

Re: Where to Find AUTO Parts

I can't look up parts on those websites.
Derendinger says it only sells parts to resellers
