Where do I leave my car in Berner Oberland

Hi englishforumers,

being new to the site I hope to get some helpful info about traveling in Switzerland.

I'm planning a roughly week-long hike in Berner Oberland in late June. Nothing much pre-arranged (quite intentionally so), just walking from village to village, roughly on a Gstaat-to-Mehringen (or Grindlwald) route.

As we'll be arriving by car, the question is where I can safely (and free of later fines) leave my car before the trip. Are there any designated long-term parking lots in towns like Speiz, or somewhere else?

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Vadim

Dear Vadim
I hope you have a wonderful trip just to let you know this forum is more to do with day to day living tips, joys and whines about Switzerland rather than travel info.

Though if you search under day Trips you might find some thing : )
I suggest you contact the local Tourist office most are more that happy to give you assistance in English

Good luck and enjoy your trip

Re: Where do I leave my car in Berner Oberland

There are many car free villages in the area such as Wengen and Murren. Usually these villages have longer term car parks close to the last car access point to the village. This is certainly the case in Saas-Fee and Zermatt, and I would be surprised if there wasn't something similar for the car free villages in Berner Oberland.
