Trusted Car Garage in Zurich?

Hi guys,

yesterday while driving my generator belt fell off and cracked, but luckily I managed to come home (5km), but my wheel support and ABS didnt work anymore. As I know it shouldnt be a big problem to just change the belt, I would like to ask maybe somebody could recommend me good car garage which would not rip me off and would do a good job in Zurich city area?

Car is Rover 400, Turbodiesel, 77kw. Most of the honda civic parts fit well.

Thanks a lot for any information!

Zurlinden Garage - on Zurlindestrasse 8003.

I have mentioned that garage quite a few times on this forum already

Re: Garage / Mechanic recommendations in Zurich

Hello,

I have a Peugeot Partner (2004) and needed some repair. Changing the water pump and v-belt, there were some other things to do. Is it normal to pay CHF 100 per hour for a mechanics? Finally payed 550 which is about 25% of the value of my car.

Still have to change some small parts and need a cover inside of the motor. Do you have any recommendation for a cheaper solution?

Thanks.
L.

Re: Garage / Mechanic recommendations in Zurich

Hi. I see this thread is very old, but maybe any suggestions on a reasonably priced car repair? I have a Renault Laguna II from 2005 (the newer model) and the clutch system is broken (the pedal is not returning after pressing it down, and there is no any visible leakage). I am just not very motivated to pay half of the value of my car to repair this. I hope that it is the master cylinder which should be not that of a big issue, even thou every option to repair looks so costly. Thanks in advance, and I am sorry marinabonami is not active anymore, since her idea could be very helpful. Thanks again.

Oh look - exactly what I posted on the thread you created. Have you even bothered to call them to get an idea of the cost of the job?

Re: Garage / Mechanic recommendations in Zurich

Seems like he's maybe hoping for someone on the forum to offer to do the repair for a reduced rate, just like people on here do offer to help with other things. I can imagine the repair won't be cheap as chips but it shouldn't be too much either, if it is indeed the master cylinder.

To the OP, did you try lifting the pedal back up? It might give you enough clutch action to at least drive it somewhere. I guess DIY is out of the question.
