Do Speeding Fines Cause Problems during the Renewal of B Type Visa ???

Hi everyone,

I am a non-EU citizen and this is my first year that I live and work in Zurich. Currently, I have one year B-type Visa. Recently I got speeding fine of 250 CHF since I drove with a speed of 64 km/h througout the 50 km/h area and already paid the fine.

What I wonder is, does this speeding fine create a major problem during the renewal of my B-type visa at the end of my first year here in switzerland?

I found the below regulation for non-EU citizens and it states that:
"Once the B-permit has been granted, it is normally renewed every year unless there are reasons against a renewal, such as criminal offences, or dependence on social security."

I want to learn whether speeding fines are in the context of "criminal offences" or not? I know normally it shouldn't but here is Switzerland

I would appreciate if you share your knowledge and experiences in particular to the non-EU citizens? (Experiences of non-EU citizens are more than welcome...)

Ciao,

you won't have a problem. Even with better speeding fines, you won't have a problem.

No problem.
It's only a criminal offense if it goes to court.
Your case was practically anonymous.

Re: Do Speeding Fines Cause Problems during the Renewal of B Type Visa ???

Correct there is no problem.......

However you must be careful about going in the black book, 'schwarze buch'.

This is no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you had a fine of more than 200CHFrs. you were automatically registered in the black book, and believe me,the people were terrified of this.
The register still continues, however,I don't know what the limit is today, but I would reckon it will be in the region of 500CHfrs. to 1000CHFrs.

And you are registered in the black book so they say between 3 and 5 years, don't believe it, once you are in the black book, it's for life.

If it bothers you, then be careful.
If like me, treat it as an honour, for it's not every day that you can say,

I'M IN THE BLACK BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
