Bike Recycling - Green alternative

Be green - Do you have any cycles or bike parts that you want to get rid of? Why not free up some storage space? I recycle old bike parts rather than them being taken to the local dump or left on the street, I will come and collect for free in Lausanne/Geneva area. contact me via Private Message.

Me too!

(but I only accept carbon or titanium frames and groupsets higher than X9/XT/Ultegra)

Edit : But seriously, is this stuff for your personal use or are you selling it on?

Re: Bike Recycling - Green alternative

Hi well I keep finding bikes that have been thrown away in ditches and left by the roadside and at the dump, Its a shame for old bikes to be thrown away when they can be replaced with new parts and used again. I see that there are bikes to rent in Lausanne and Geneva but I would like to offer people a cheaper alternative to these bikes if they are here for a short period of time. Its just a weekend hobby but its great to see people enjoying them back on the swiss cycle routes.

Re: Bike Recycling - Green alternative

I did the same thing a lot while living in Ontario, before moving here. I would sell the bikes I repaired / built for more than I paid for them, but this barely covered the costs of the tools and parts that I had to buy. However, it helped me to learn a lot about bike maintenance - working on the cheapest bikes and parts is so much harder than working on better quality stuff.

I have a few lower-quality parts that I wouldn't mind donating to such a good project, plus I have many tools that may be useful for you to borrow occasionally. We should get together and discuss this over a beer - send me a PM.
