Cheap Flights to Ireland

Does anybody know of any cheap Airlines that fly between Switzerland and Ireland apart from Air Lingus, Swiss etc.?

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately no. Unless you do Ryanair from Friedrichshafen through London.

Aer Lingus or Ryanair to Dublin, Easyjet to Belfast... think that's about it. (Swiss, but that isn't really a low-cost carrier.)

Sometimes Swiss can offer really good prices to Dublin. You just have to keep looking and be lucky.

ok that's what I thought. Unfortunately on the days I want to fly the Air Lingus Flights are bit on the pricey side.

Cheers though!

Re: Cheap Flights to Ireland

Ryanair service Karlsruhe-Baden, which is accessible by train (Baden Baden, and then a bus) from Zurich

I wanted to make it to a wedding earlier this year and the Aer Lingus/Swiss options at the time were all over the 500 mark. This amount wasn't an option at this time. I managed to get there from Basel inclusive of taxes for 12 CHF (that service is now unfortunately cancelled, sorry) but flew back to Karlsruhe-Baden (40 EUR) and the train cost me ~60 CHF. Not a routing I would advise as first option, but it's worth looking into should the direct options be extortionate and you don't mind a few hours on a high-speed air-conditioned German train.

Re: Cheap Flights to Ireland

Just recently I returned from Dublin: I took Ryanair from Basel through London.
Total price (incl taxes) for the whole trip was 0.04 EUR (4 cents) - it doesn't get much cheaper than that :-)

Connection was also relatively okay (on the way there): I had about 3 hours to spend at Stansted

Isn't that just so very annoying but that's the whole trick I guess, about making good business for them

If you can amend your flight date, you may be able to save more than the cost of accomodation for the extra nights.

Re: Cheap Flights to Ireland

Now that Aer Lingus is no longer and option can anyone suggest the best route? I would prefer from Basel but could travel to zurich if its a better deal. Flights don't seem to be any cheaper if i look out even 3-4 months. Destination in Ireland doesn't matter.

Re: Cheap Flights to Ireland

To match my needs, I am flying Geneva to Dublin and Dublin to Zurich for about CHF 300 return, with Aer Lingus in July 2012. Price includes 20 Kg of luggage and a seat reservation, what's wrong with that?

Sounds good. Unfortunately it isn't worth it for me to go to Geneva from Basel for a weekend trip.
