Swiss Boarding Pass Using Mobile Phone

Sort of cool? I'll give it a try and see what happens next time. Make sure your battery is fully charged.

As the email said, "Web Check-Ón with SWISS thus becomes even more attractiver" to avoid queues.

www.swiss.com/web/EN/services/checkin/web_checkin/Pages/web_checkin.aspx?WT.ac=Presenter-MobilBoarding_PR_CH_EN01

You can use a barcode on your mobile telephone's screen as a boarding pass.
"The mobile boarding pass is valid at baggage drop locations, document checkpoints, tax free shops and at aircraft boarding."

Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich airports accept this method.

I guess developments like this make the German word 'Handy' more appropriate.

Hubby uses this on his Blackberry, and has had no problems with it.

It's not new? I haven't used Swiss for a while, but got an email today announcing it.

Last night my friend told me she has had her eyes scanned so that at Heathrow she can go to a fast lane at passport control (with a British passport I presume). I thought this was to do with Biometric passports but apparently you can join this with a normal passport.

That is not very new either. Amsterdam Airport offers this for years.
