Registering your car - where

Hi all,

I know this is a thread that has been done to death already, but for those of us who's UK car's were here before we were (it broke down, I left it at a friends and then I moved here), where can I go in Zürich to register it's existance (import)?

I don't want to drive all the way to the border to go through the paperwork. There must be an office here in the city I can drive to (need to get the form (1820?) and get plates on the car asap. MOT has run out and I need to get her inspected over here.

Thanks

Perhaps just go the the Strassenvekehrsamt and be open? Bring all your documents and find the oldest dear on duty; smile and ask for help.

"Oldest dear" strategy not possible. You stand in a single queue, which fans out to the next free agent.

Swiss inspections are stringent. Good luck!
