I was fortunate today to get to work by S12 which was only about 5min delayed. I heard about this derailment.

I don't wanna derail the EF thread though but here is my question: Has anything changed in train tariffs recently (in train fares) as I was off sick last week. This morning I checked the tickets from the machine and usual setup has changed i.e. prices differ and I get a menu with options "A-Welle", daily passes type of tickets and etc. Can anyone shed the light as last year I only used to buy monthly tickets and this year a buy daily tickets.
New timetables and fares usually come into operation the second week of December.

Re: Major Problems at Zürich HB [14 Dec 2009]

Cracking job. Looks like the only S-Bahn train now affected is the S15 - All others are running to schedule.

Edit: Disruption now expected until 12:00

Yes, the new integrated A-Welle tariff came in on Sunday. Basically you now use the same zone structure for the daily tickets as you have been for the monthly tickets. Details here Kanton Aargau - New Bus/train Timetable/Fare changes

Thanks for the link, I missed it. When I was impatiently waiting for my turn in a queue to buy a ticket, I could not understand why people in front of me where taking so much time buying the ticket. When I saw the new options written in German (despite choosing English language option), it also took me some time to figure out which ticket I need. It seems like I bought only Einzelbillett covering zones 560 570 and I need to buy another one. The price difference is CHF1.40 more than before.

Oerlikon is also a nightmare, lots of trains are terminating there instead of HB so its really really crowded. Best to avoid if you can.
Yep, was 40 minutes late this morning.

Re: Major Problems at Zürich HB [14 Dec 2009]

Today was the first time I actually didn't have any delays with the 32 bus while there were traffic delays in other areas. It seems that bus is just doomed to be late, except apparently when everyone else is.

Now that it's all cleared up, hope people didn't freeze too long outside. At least you had company.
