I'm not a Jeep owner - may I reply anyway? This might be of interest to you - or this or even this. Oh, I just found another one - and a last one Many more in German actually, but I didn't know if you wanted to know those.

Your question reminds me of one of the the first English sentences I learned: Is a Jeep a cheap car?

As for your request, here are the German ones:

http://www.jeepforum.de/
http://www.jeep4fun.at/jeepforum/
http://www.jeep-club.de/
http://www.rss-verzeichnis.de/eintrag.php?feed=19251

That 'll be a pint, mate

Re: Jeep Websites

Bought a '97 Wrangler as my first new car. Had to order it since they didn't have any hard tops (apparently, no one in California ever went anywhere in theirs other than to the beach). Man, I miss that thing.

Re: Jeep Websites

If you need to carry stuff on a vacation,Cherokee is a good choice. Wranglers aren't that comfortable for a daily driver.
And for accessories,There are a lot of places to go to find Jeep parts. If you're looking for new and want a good price you're better off buying an aftermarket part.
There are a number of web sites selling them, but the best prices are usually not found on the major sites like JC Whitney, 4wd or Quadratec (they don't need to go low to get business). The best prices are on the next tier of suppliers and two of the places that I have found good prices are:
http://www.xtremeterrain.com
http://www.discountjeepparts.com
Hope I helped !!

Have to disagree with the Wrangler not being comfortable as a daily car. I've been driving mine daily for about 4 years now and did the UK to Zug trip in it. No problems.

Re: Jeep Websites

Hi guys ,

does anyone have the navigation system in their pre 2005 truck . Mine is a 2004 GC with navigation in it but the thing sometimes get stuck. It uses the same screen as the radio.

The message "navigation is being activated, please respect road...." and it will stay stuck on that with not letting me use any radio controls. radio works but I cannot change stations and such....

Any help on disabling this with be appreciated

Re: Jeep Websites

Does your navigation system use maps on DVD? If so, is the disc scratched or warped?

Re: Jeep Websites

It uses the DVD , Cd that comes with the truck.

The navigation is not on as I donot use it. I removed and drove without it but it would do the same thing? it only happens once every day (4x trip) if it is stuck it will stay stuck for the whole drive.....

Do I need to completely take it out and disconnect the NAv?

BTW do you go to the Jeep heep heep in Crans Montana?

I'm not completely familiar with all of the Jeep navigation systems, but this is what I would check...
1. If it is a European Jeep, does it have the genuine European issued map media?
2. If it is a US Jeep, does it have European map media and is the unit known to work with European maps?
3. Does the unit have a remote GPS antenna? Is it connected? Is the cable damaged?
4. Has anyone been smoking in the Jeep? Tobacco smoke can get a laser dirty very quickly and the navigation optical drive may need cleaning.

Identify the unit's three character codename which is usually in the lower right hand corner of the head unit and Google it for faults. You may have to go to a dealer to get the problem resolved

We have been once in my wife's modified TJ during our first year here. I doubt we would ever take our stock Swiss JK on the offroad course.

Re: Jeep motors discussion / sites of interest

mmm very helpfull. It is a jeep from Austria, where it was build. I do smoke inside but the person before me didnt and I have only had it for mmm2 months if that.

But I will check the rest.

I dont want the nav as I have a GPS garmin which is much more advanced haha.

I see many stockers on the photo album in Crans tho. I really want to go but unfortunately the jeep is a streetqueen......except for snow and mutt, but I dont like rocks
