Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

Just a warning to y'all. Do not buy a car there, Service is horrible.... .

I was promised a free 100k service if I bought the car, low and behold 431 chf later I was told by the service department I got ripped off.... .

Did you get it written as part of the purchase agreement that the 100K service was to be free or are the claiming this is for fluids which is not included or something just as ridiculous?

Not a good experience but thanks for sharing.

Re: Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

Did you buy second hand?
Did you get it in writing?
Was it a deal of "free service up to 100k km or 4 years or whichever comes first"?
Did you ask for a full listing of the tasks actioned during the servicing?

Some things for services are not included in the typical "free this or that until X miles/duration" such as liquids and consumables, but the actual work of the services task on the other hand is free.

etc... etc...

You might just want to double check on some of those facts. Sorry to hear it bit you back like this...

I would never go to Emil Frey again.

Had a Land Rover in which we paid 3,500SFr. for a service (head gasket had blown) & they 'forgot' to do an emissions test.

Re: Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

Well I didnt get it in writing, but im gonna send him (salesman) an email and see if I can catch him like that. (Him writing it in an email).

Bought it used 6 years or 100k km whichever comes first. It has 92k and is 1 month over 6 years old. Sales guy told me to make appointment before the 13th of January....just make an appointment which I did and brought it in today like I was supposed to.

One of the reasons I agreed to buy the car was the free service( not the reason I bought it but it helped....)

The oil and fluids were only 150 so there is still 300 hidden in there somewhere.....

If I get it in writing you think I could take legal action? or threathen to? m431 is alot of money for me.....

Re: Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

Best way is to go to the garage and see the salesman who sold you the car. Show him the bill for the servicing and ask why it was not free and that you are not happy?

Be direct and get to the point!

If it is a mistake then he should sort it out and you should get some money back. This is much simpler than even thinking of the legal route, believe me if you tackle some of the people head on here they move quite quickly.

Good luck and post the outcome

That's about 1 or 2 hours of lawyers time, maybe 2 letters if you're lucky

I think technically you should have asked for your appointment before the 13th to stay within the final date of guarantee, that might be the problem, sorry to say it but this one you would be better to let go.

Still worth him chasing the salesman, you never know a few phone calls or one visit could push it the right way. I agree that going down the legal route is a total waste of money and time.

Re: Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

As you are in Montreux I know it's not the easiest thing but perhaps the best would be to show up at the shop with the bill and ask for the salesman and the manager. You might get them to bend, or at least subtract the labor or something.

Aside from that, as it sounds like a verbal agreement I think you're SOL.

Agree it is better to turn up in person and confront the salesman than over the phone, certainly this is the way I would do it.

Re: Emile Frey Volvo Nyon

Old thread to bump but curious if some EFers have had any expériences since about buying a 2nd hand car from Emile Frey (Not limited to Nyon)?

Considering a vehicle at the moment and seems a good choice but have never bought 2nd hand car from a carrosserie before

We bought our first car, a used Toyota Auris, from E Frey in Geneva in 2012.

Service was so-so. Car was perfectly prepared and totally reliable.

Sales chap told us the price included the vehicle registration plates, and autoroute vignette. It didn't and he later denied saying it did.

When we finally changed it last year, we were offered a better part exchange price from a different dealer on a similar car.
