[Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

Hi!

Any schpountz willing to go to Ikea Aubonne near lausanne tomorrow (after work), or Saturday?

We could share a rented Van from Ikea (lets say 3 hours, 90chf)!
We would need a driver ()

I don't mind paying like 2-3 hours for Ikea's Van, and I will gladly assist in carrying your stuffs aswell.

I plan to buy some furnitures and crap, will need like 1 hour in shop and just dropping stuff to my flat.

Contact PM,

thanks!

I have no ideas...

I suppose it means "shopper", "people", "anyone", etc...

It's a neologism.

CorsebouTheReturn,

We know you're a little naive from the Camera story, but if you really think you'll manage Ikea on a Saturday in less that a whole day, you should up the pills a bit. It is absolutely chockablock from morning to evening, just in the shop, it's hard work, then you got to go to delivery point and pick up your stuff, then get out, got To Lausanne and back and then back into the Ikea parking lot.

Do yourself a favour, go one day in the week, you may manage this in 3 or 4 hours.

Thanks,
yes I don't know about it, i'm "Ikea virgin"...

Just found out you need to pay 16% for delivery aswell... What a weird "area" where people pay loads, and still ask to pay more without questionning...

At least with camera or ITS stuffs, when you spend above 1000chf you get free delivery...

I appreciate your infos though I'll try to "rush it" tonight!!!

it closes at 9pm, should be for a reason.

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

No not true, i went to this same IKEA last saturday and we stayed 2 hours, actually i could be interested as we need to pick up a few things missing with my boyfriend(coffee table, chairs, shelves), what do you need to pick up, and where would you need the van back? We re in Gaillard, french part so we re not sure we can pass the frontier with swiss van, does anyone know about it please?

People swear by Mobility, it is great exactly for things like this.

I just drove to Ikea Aubonne last Saturday and we ended up waiting 30min just to get a parking spot, the place was absolutely packed. Everywhere. So, I think it really could be a day trip.

We went to Ikea last week Monday in Aubonne hoping it would be nice and quite so we could have meatball lunch whilst checking out the sofas but instead it was full of kids and parents due to the school hols, must be the cheapest place to feed kids whilst the hols are on

Yes, it is absolutely the cheapest place to feed kids here. Especially if you get the IKEA FAMILY card. I don't work for them, I swear. I just love their meat balls and the fact they have kiddie play corners, haha.

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

Thanks all!

Much appreciated the help

It requires so much organization that it's too hard to simply "go and buy".

A collegue who wanted to go will bring me there tonight. We will pre-order, and go again satruday very early to collect the order and rent their van for 2-3hours.

It's not much choice anyway, "furnitures" it's a good market: they can charge you loads for 4 wood planks, and also add extra for delivery...

So I'll have to "pay for my peace of mind" as I was told

Ps: for my french fellows, I think it can be troubles if Swiss people see a french van and I would have to buy loads anyway (everything basically), so I will have to turn down your nice offer to go there together with a rented van) )

I though it would be simple to go with 2-3 new people in Lausanne, spend 1hour there, buy, put in van, go back to our houses, unload, and back to idea...

I forgot collection, items in stock, hours in shop, etc.....

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

We usually do IKEA as a two-hit thing. Step One - drift over to IKEA any time of day, park over by the other shopping complex if necessary (usually is, but it's just a 5 min walk) as we won't be carrying anything. Wander around showplace, jot down all the warehouse locations of things we want, make a list from the marketplace, let the kids play in the children's section, have meatballs or hot dog/ ice cream, go home. The kids enjoy this, as it's not 'real' shopping.

Step Two - hubby is there as the doors open the next morning (or whenever if it's not urgent), sprints through to the marketplace/warehouse, grabs everything we need, then ambles through the blessedly empty tills. Home just after breakfast. The extra half an hour's drive for the additional trip is nothing compared to standing in the queue of death for half an hour, jostled by people's wardrobes and being whined at by the long-ago bored kids.

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

I need to do the same thing, but in Basel/Pratteln. I was told that if I went first thing Saturday morning (9am) it wouldn't be too bad. The plan is to hire a van from them but I can't find anything about that on their website. However, that could be due to my lack of German.

I did in two times like it was said 2 post earlier.

Went thursday, booked van for saturday, took reference of items and "pre-order" (just a paper so the stock will know what to give).

Saturday will have the truck for 3 hours ...

To borrow their truck its 90chf for 3 hours (100 or 150km, can't remember).
You need to go there and fill a form!

And if you want to get a van on a Saturday, you must book it 2-3 weeks early, otherwise forget it!

Thanks!

Definitely, Saturday is very busy apparently.

We booked one yesterday evening, for the "start of the day" (=10am for the vans), so it will gives us 1 hour to collect boxes, and then we get the van!

But yes without pre-booking Saturdays seems to avoid definitely!!

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

On Thursday Ikea(Pratteln Basel) is open until 10pm...which makes it easier to go just after work.
Shopping In Ikea on Saturdays is really a nightmare, far too many people and kids around,it's really tiring.

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

Thanks for the tips. Silly me was expecting to just turn up tomorrow morning, walk to the customer help desk and say "gimme a van, now please!". I guess that's not going to work.

Oh well. I'll think of something ;)

Re: [Lausanne] We're going to Ibiz...Ikea (Tomorrow or this Saturday)

Usually On a Saturday the queue for Ikea begins on the exit of the motorway...

And I let you imagine the circus IN the shop: kids running everywhere, parents oscillating between exhaustion and worry (where is my child?!), other clients swearing at those d---d kids bothering everybody... Quite a show

Check this link out ... rates are at the bottom.

http://www.ikea.com/ms/de_CH/custome...html#Mietwagen

Seems to be a little cheaper if renting from Mobility.
