English-speaking motorcycle driving instructor BS/ZH

I am in the lucky situation that I have decided to get a motorcycle driving license (and an MC) for the summer. However, I have had a bit of troubles finding an English-speaking driving instructor (most seem to be offering license for car only).
Was searching the forum here, but could not find any recommendations for MC instructors, only for car.

Does anybody know of / can recommend a driving instructor in either Basel or Zürich?

Thank you in advance.

Another immigrant needs some advice.

Try google: Fahrschule Motorrad english (your location)

I assume the theory and driving test have to be done in the local language without a translator.

Hi,

I wanted to do this just before the Winter break. I had a lesson with an Urs Tobler in Zurich. His site is: http://www.tramstrasse100.ch/index2.html

Unfortunately, I nearly drove his bike into a wall so I'm not sure he was that impressed with me and the Winter delay has done nothing to improve my confidence!

But he was great and very friendly

Thank you for the recommendation, will try to give him a call and ask for prices etc.
Did he give you an estimate for a full "package"?

I will be sure not to refer to you when contacting him

Zürich allows that you take a test in English, other Kantons allow the presence of a translator - I did do some searching before resorting to starting a thread

Thank you for the link, definitely a good resource, but was hoping for some experiences / recommendations - as the quality is difficult to judge from the list.

Unless you already have an auto license and have converted it to a Swiss one. Then you are exempt from the theory test completely.

I do have both, which makes this a very interesting reply. Thank you.

If you have the CH auto license, you only need to do the Grundkurs and the test. No first aid, no theory.
