Re: Import of electric bike (mofa)

Hi, we bought our A2B Hybrid Pedelec there and for my wife the Gocycle electric folding bike. I have been test riding the mentioned e-bike A2B Metro from Ultra Motor too. They are a lot of fun and powerful enough for our hilly area. The Gocycle is more a commuter bike and useful for short trips in town. We use it for our RV. Importing to Switzerland is very easy, just go to their website at www.ElectricEmotion.de and call or email them. They have a branch close to Swiss border at Langenargen Yachtharbour, Bodensee. We saved a lot $$. Good service, nice people, excellent bikes, we are happy customer.

Re: Import of electric bike (mofa)

The A2B Hybbrid is not considered a mofa as the motor is just 250W. The Metro is a different beast altogether

I assume you went back to get the tax back?

Of course we got the 19% german tax back. You are right, the A2B Hybrid is a Pedelec like the Flyer from Biketech and the motor shuts off when you become faster than 27 km/h. A2B Metro has more the mofa-style look but is actually an e-bike in combination with a speed pedelec. It goes 20/25 km/h just by the 500W motor power. On top of that you can pedal with you own power additionally. That way you are speeding around very easy with 35 Km/h and more, while the pedaling still feels extremly relaxed. Very interesting concept of biking, I haven't seen anywhere else yet. For our needs the A2B Hybrid was the better choice so far. We liked the fresh design of these bikes. They don't look like the regular market e-bikes. I've seen Peugeot has the same bikes as OEM now, but more expensive I guess.
