Importing a 2005 Honda Accord from US 6cyl

Hello, I'm a newbie and would be grateful for some help. We are considering importing our 2005 Honda Accord (6 cyl) automatic from the US to Zurich. I have learned that this model was sold in CH as the Acura TSX. Can anyone tell me if it is feasible to import this Accord ? How can I find the modifications that need to be completed in order to import it? Are there other factors we should consider?
Many thanks !

Personally I'd say a five year old car probably isn't worth importing unless it was maybe something considered more collectable (like a Corvette). Also North American versions don't have the same drivetrains as their European counterparts do. The Euro Honda Accord (or Acura) didn't come with 6 cylinder engines which means if you have a breakdown you're stuck as nobody will have any parts in stock that fit your car. Special ordering parts for it could prove costly and time consuming.

Good reading on the following links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_TSX

Here's a search of used Honda Accords located in Switzerland. Take note none contain a 6 cylinder engine, only 2.0 or 2.4 liter 4 cylinders.

I also searched for a used 2005 Acura TSX (or just Acura) but that didn't produce any results.

Regarding the Accord/TSX thing, I think you might have it backwards. The Euro Accord is the Acura TSX in the US. I think the US Accord platform isn't sold in here at all. Indeed this would complicate repairs.

What richardm & vwild said.

IMO, you'll be stuck with a 5 year old pig in a poke, that may cost a fortune to ship and make legal here (if it even has type approval), that should any major repairs or accident damage need fixing will cost a fortune and an age to fix as they will not have the parts here.

Maybe not what you want to hear but sell it, and get something decent here. For a 5 year old Honda it isn't worth the hassle
