The motor tax in Canton Vaud is based on the weight of the car and the power of the engine in Kilowatts,

It includes a basic fee of CHF 40,--
Plus CHF 0.15 per Kg up to 2000 Kg and CHF 0.30 for each additional Kg
Plus CHF 2 .- per Kw to 100 Kw and CHF 3 .- for each additional kilowatt.

There are reductions if the engine has very low emissions (Gas or electric)
