Re: importing car from Germany...Possible?

Hy,
i just import my car and when i went to the Customs in Zurich the man who made me the paper told me some stuff regarding the imports from Germany.
The bottom of the page was that you must take into account the +12,5(this is an average if you want a hummer... ) percentage of the price of the car.So, it is very important to find a firm who can make the VAT refundable, and it is a must for the car to have the.... i do not know how to said but, some book of the car( there are specified the all technical features and it is not the registration certificate ).
I don t know if this is a tip, but he also show me when you are in graphics with the tires; take the 50 cent CHF coins and if the line of the tire is under the stars, you might have some problems

Re: importing car from Germany...Possible?

One of my clients has a garage in Egg and he is currently importing a car for me. I basically sourced a few cars I was interested in on autoscout24.de, he looked at the links online and advised which ones would be the best buy.

I found a white BMW 130 (2008) that I liked for 21000 EUR, he will fly to Dusselfdorf register it in CH sort out all paperwork mwst import tax vignette etc... Put it through MFK and service it with new filters oil & brake fluid for 27000 chuffs.

No hassle and not a bad deal I reckon.

If you would like his details pm me, he has a reputable garage in Egg, deals only with dealers and not 'autoturk' and as a customer I have known him many years personally.

You might want to read the topics were people took the time to explain the process carefully, as opposed to have "approximations".

By the way your 12.5% are 8.5% of Swiss VAT and 4% import duties.
You're book is the service book; you'll also need EUR1 certificate.

Importing a used car from Germany
Anyway please do search the forum, we did not posted all infos for nothing.
