trailer hire

anyone know of a company around zurich that hires out trailers? need a failry big one to pick up gear from the uk, so will also need to be braked, a box trailer would be good. Car is swiss registered so no links to the guy who is selling one on here (although that would be perfect!!)

Thanks

Re: trailer hire

There have been a couple of threads recently on this!

Re: trailer hire

I saw this and wondered if, as a resident in Switzerland, Swiss driving license holder, we are covered as if we were "Swiss"?

https://www.theguardian.com/money/20...re-switzerland

I was hoping to rent a trailer to move stuff to/from the UK, to be towed by a Swiss registered towing vehicle. Has anyone actually moved stuff from abroad like this? Did it go to plan?

Has anything changed since May with regards to EU citizens (presumably not residents) not being able to drive rented cars abroad?

A further question, is renting a trailer in Germany or France... Are we allowed to tow it in Switzerland. If no, could my non Swiss resident, EU license holder visitor take over the combo as we cross the border? lol.

Re: trailer hire

A friend lives in Campione, and his tow vehicle is registered there (i.e. it has Swiss plates, even though Campione is in Italy, even the cops and Carabinieri there have Swiss plates), and his trailer is registered in Verona, and thus has Italian plates.

He's had no problem so far.

Re: trailer hire

I towed a Swiss trailer on a UK plated car back to the UK - no issues at all.
