Does anyone knkw where I can find people trying to pass on their car leases?

You use the phrase "pass on their lease".

Legally I do not believe this is possible; i.e. to take over somebody elses lease from them.

The only thing you might find is a car -lease company that is taking back a car from somebody that either:
(1) defaulted on payments
(2) has returned the car early with a penalty for in effected terminating the contract before its end.

Not sure thats true cashboy. I've heard before that it is a reasonably common way of getting out of a lease. Like selling on your gym membership. Presumably you have to satisfy the lessor's criteria though.

Try this website. People post on there when they want someone to take over their lease. Not sure how active it is but you might have some luck there.

That is interesting; becuase in effect you could have a shorter lease on a vehicle say 18 months on a 36 month original lease.
However, you would have to look at the terms to see if you would be liable for a shortfall in the lease residual value against the actual final value as on some leases, you have to make up the shortfall.

Did you have any luck with finding information about taking over a lease?
I am in the process of trying to find a way out of my Renault lease 2 years early (leaving the country) and would be interested in knowing if it is indeed possible to find someone to take it over from me rather than having to be lumped with a huge penalty for cancelling it.
Would appreciate anyones input.

First find the person who will take over the lease.

Next contact the leasing company and arraneg a meeting.

Then go along with the person who will take over the lease. Numbers will be crunched. Paperwork will be signed. Deal will be done.

Normally you will have to pay something into the pot - but not as much as the normal early exit penalty.
