Missing category on driving licence

I am British, and have an unlimited motorcycle category on my old UK license, but I came to CH from US, and when I showed my US license the Strassenverkehrsamt (SZ) didn't understand the US license and didn't give me unlimited motorcycle category (just up to 25KW).

This wasn't a problem, as I didn't have a motorbike anyway, but am now starting to think about taking it up again.

I just moved to GR, and explained the situation at local SVKAmt (in my limited German), but they tell me I've left it too late to change my Swiss license to include the unlimited category and will need to take motorbike test.

A couple of questions: Does anyone know any way around this?

Is it possible to do the theory in English?
