Passed my driving theory test... experiences
I passed my driving theory test today in Geneva in French.
Just wanted to post my experiences on it.
I had been apprehensive as my French is intermediate, I could not work in French, but I can have a basic conversation and do most of my day-to-day needs.
I had to do the 10 hour first aid course in French, which was a challenge, but there is no exam, you just need to be there and participate form time to time.
Then I did an 8 hour theory course in French, I probably understood 60% of the material. I then spent a further 8 hours at home translating and understanding the notes which were provided by the course. Afterwhich I did roughly 16 practice tests at the school which I took the theory course. I averaged anywhere between 13-6 false points (you can have unto 14 wrong and still pass).
I passed today with 1 false point. Overall it was a bit of an effort considering I had no clue about the rules of the road and my level of french was an issue. It took me 4 weeks from the point of starting the first aid course, to passing today.
I have to say I would highly recommend the school I studied with, auto ecole serviette. They are very efficient at getting people to pass the exam!
