Sorry but you cannot compare the blandness of this triumph with the beauty of the W800.
Blandness? Blandness? Thems fightin words. How very dare you sir. I call you out. We shall meet on the Gotthard pass for a retro showdown and I shall let you see nought but my pipes (ooer missus).

Bob, sorry to hear you dropped it, glad you are ok, if red faced.

From the Triumph stable, I really like the Thruxton, love the retro look.

Are we any further with dates for a get together ??

Chris
I'm getting new tyres on the 12th so will be looking to wear them in

Probably the Monday is best for me but open to persuasion.

Re: Motorcycle Ride Out V:

Okay,
So according to CH biking community, which bikes would be preferred most,
European??? like Ducati,Aprilia,BMW,KTM,Triumph,MV Augusta,Moto Morini,Moto Guzzi,Bimota,Huqvarna,Cagiva,Ural,Enfield and many others.
or Japanese??? the Big four,Honda,Suzuki,Yamaha and Kawasaki.
or American??? Harley Davidson,Victory and Buell

According to my judgment,
Japanese Bikes are affordable technologies relatively in comparison to European Bikes. This is the class which I prefer personally. It provides exceptional Value For Money.

European Bikes personifies standard, quality, beauty and lifestyle and they don't come cheap. They are for the rich and the classy.

American Bikes.......have a cult following for them.Harley Davidson fans wont look for anything else.Buell and Victory does not appeals a lot.

I'm afraid the cards are against you my dear sir.
Lets compare engines for instance. The triumph has kind of short fat cilinders, for arguments sake lets compare them to a short fat girl. Even the factory tries to muffle them away by painting them black. Now look at those magnificient tall thin striking beauties of the W800, supermodels compared to the fat dumpy ones on the triumph.
Compare the plastic versus the chromed metal fenders, the cheap aluminium versus the spoked wheels, the fake carburators, should I go on ?
I think it is time for me to graciously accept your defeat so we both can drink to the beauty of the W800.

A few years ago I read something in the order of:
You buy a european bike if you want a source of enjoyment, something to ride in your free time for pleasure.
You buy a japanese bike if you need a source of transportation.
You buy an american bike if you like to spend time in the garage.

I have two american and one european bike (I like my garage)

That is probably the worst pass I have had the honour to ride up and down. I would actively avoid it next time.

Why ???
Is it very accident prone or is it very slow to ride there ???
