A bit remiss of me, I have not checked this for a few weeks.

@ Odile, thanks for the info. We have a pair of Nissan Navarras both fitted with BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres, which perform very well in snow There are two/three drivers in each vehicle as well, so stops (apart from the obvious requirements) not usually required. We do have chains, but so far have never had the need to fit them (and yes we do check them to ensure they are still OK each season).

As you live in the area, perhaps you would be kind enough to give me an update on the conditions closer to the end of January when we are travelling. Thank you.

If you are not arriving in Switzerland until the end of January, you will be too late for this years Lauberhorn downhill. It is this weekend. You can catch it on Eurosport or BBC

just a point here that you'll lose the border workers as you're coming on a Saturday but of course you're arriving on changeover day and the roads in and out of Switzerland and in and out of resorts will be busy.

Did you go shopping for your cars and tyres together, by the way?

@ Deep Purple. I know, I already have the hd recorder set to catch it all. I actually meant I was looking forward to skiing/sliding down it on my bum/back/head etc.

@ KB88111 We were hoping to get a "buy one, get one free" deal, but sadly as they were purchased a year apart and from different dealers, that idea failed.

They even got different colours look..



Last year in Andorra, click image for bigger pic. I do hope they clean them before we leave, not sure they will let us over the border otherwise. Sadly, I know all about busy changeover days, but due to work etc these trials have to be dealt with each year.
