Parking for the weekend near Enge

Hi All,
My girlfriend is coming to visit this weekend from Germany and I can't figure out where she can park the car. I live on Brandschenkestr. near bahnhof Enge but all the street parking seems to be with permit.
Does anybody know some free street parking or place with reasonable weekend parking fees around there?

Thanks.

Re: Parking for the weekend near Enge

I'll probably get into trouble for this, but here goes:

At the Kantonsschule Enge (just around the corner from you) there's a large parking area in front which is really only reserved for staff. BUT, as your gf's coming over the weekend, you can probably leave her car on one of the "non-obvious" spaces, i.e. not right slap bang up in front of the building but more to the side from Friday evening till Sunday night. School starts early on Mondays (07.50), so the car will have to disappear by Sunday night.
I can't guarantee anything, but I usually see an awful lot of "non staff" cars parked there over the weekend when I drive past.

You can buy a day ticket online for the Blue Zones for 15 CHF. Then on Sunday it is free in lots of places...

Spoilsport.
I was trying to teach the guy how to find things for himself - the Info you give is also hidden away in a link in the Thread I showed him how to search for!

Sure, my way would have made him do a bit more work, but knowing where to look and how to wade one's way through the Internet is a very useful skill when one comes to live here. Of course, if there are friendly EF's on call 24 hours a day one doesn't need to bother.

Thanks for the tips! Very helpful indeed.
Actually, I did do a search for "parking" but didn't find that particular thread.

Re: Parking for the weekend near Enge

This is why the googling site:englishforum.ch bla, bla, bla works so well. You can put several terms with plus signs between them which must be present the sought Thread. Jrspet showed me the method ages ago and I, together with a lot of other EFers, I use it all the time for searches. Otherwise I use Advanced Search, especially if I can remember who posted in that thread, which also narrows it down quite a lot.

Glad you found what you wanted anyway.
