Mammut Museum -Niederweningen(ZH)

Has anyone visited this museum? It's in Niederweningen, not too far from Baden. Here is a link to the English page on their website.

http://www.mammutmuseum.ch/index.php...tionen-en.html

According to the website, the texts are in English, although the leaflet is not.

Just looking for some feedback. Thanks.

Let me know if/when you go there -- I'd like to know if it"s worth a trip! I am fascinated by all the recently extinct megafauna, so this one sounds good to me...! Cheers

Re: Mammut Museum -Niederweningen(ZH)

i just came back from there. Good place for kids - there is a school and playground nearby. I spent an hour and CHF5 for entry ( unfortunately the Swiss Museum Pass was not valid ).

Interesting museum - explains how the region came to hold so many fossils.

I'm attaching a copy of the brochure in PDF format. The entire museum exhibits are in DE and for me it was a good opportunity to practice my oral DE with the Kasse lady and curious co-visitors as well as reading in DE.

Re: Mammut Museum -Niederweningen(ZH)

Just so that no one posts a complaint after a visit, we should just make it clear that all the mammoths in the museum are in fact, um, clinically dead. Would hate to see the twins throw a tantrum because "Mani the Mammoth" isn't warm and cuddly.

It's the Chinese that are threatening to defy Darwin and try and hatch a real life version again using frozen cells and elephant embryos. That's just before Dodos are released back into the wild.
