Re: SBB offer: Supersaver to Lucerne

Worth it if one is eg considering visiting the Transport Museum in Lucerne which is Open 365 days a year!

There is a James Bond weekend there from 10.12 to 12.12

Also, if visitors have a Museum pass (included in a Swiss Pass) admission to the transport museum is free.

Not free, but the year long valid Swiss Museum Pass is offered to GA / Swiss Pass holders at a discounted rate.

The GA by itself also provides reduced prices for Museum entry. The Museum pass provides 50% discount to the Verkehrshaus.

The Swiss Pass for visitors includes free admission to museums, including the transport museuem. The discount is obviously different for residents with a GA.

Ah, thanks for that. It is different for the GA - the offer for GA holders for the Museum Pass is:

Museumspass bis CHF 45.– günstiger.

Mit dem Schweizer Museumspass entdecken Sie in über 445 Museen die Geschichte von Land und Leuten, Handwerkliches, Kuriositäten, Technik, Wissenschaft, Natur und Kunst.
Dank diesem Gutschein erhalten Sie den Schweizer Museumspass jetzt 45 Franken günstiger.

The Aston Martin with the Swiss control label "LU 6789" has achieved cult status. The car was in the James Bond film "Goldfinger" in 1964 alongside Sean Connery, Gert Frobe and Honor Blackman Bond Girl, the fourth main character. After a restoration, it is now until Sunday (December 12) in the Transport Museum in Lucerne.

Legendary is the special equipment that the secret agent was built in 007 in the car, to deal with villain Goldfinger: rotating license plates, an ejection seat, retractable ball protection, oil spraying, machine guns, smoke machine etc. all operate under a flap in the center console.

Also is presented on a big screen documentary on the Bond director Marc Forster ("Licence to Film").

The entrace to Transport meusuem by holding a Swiss Pass only is no longer free since last year, it now gives 50% discount on entry.

Thanks for the update. That is a shame. When I visited using a Swiss Pass two years ago entry was free. It was only the iMax that there was any charge for.

I hope they haven't removed the subsidy off other museums. The website doesn't mention any changes.

Re: SBB offer: Supersaver to Lucerne

Had a lovely day in Lucerne with excellent weather - entrance cost me CHF13.50, saw Zodiac in DE at the Planetarium. Lots of interesting stuff for kids - just don't tell them it is a museum!
