Re: Paragliding Interlaken

Flight time depends on how many customers they have that day. The usual time is 15 minutes, but they gave us a good 25 minute flight coz we were their first customers that day
That said, wind and weather conditions also play a part in how long you can remain suspended in air
Its pure fun, so dont get scared...it sure is a once in a lifetime experience

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

We did tandem jumps in Arosa. The flight times depend on the weather (and the mood of the 'pilot' or how busy his schedule is). We had great thermals so were able to stay up a long time, as the 3 guys who took us (OH, 1 daughter and moi) were not in a hurry- so we were up there for 45 mins.

Because of thermals we went up a lot which involves turns, and this made me quite sea sick and I had to really concentrate not to be ill. I asked the guy why they don't warn people about this, so they can take a seasickness tablet before, it they are prone to this. He said 'if we warn them, they don't come' which is daft I think. So next time, i will defo take a tablet first and enjoy it even more (if that is possible). Our daughter (grown up) burst into tears on landing, and I thought she was hurt. No, mum, it was just soooo beautiful and moving. Enjoy.

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

I went jumping in Fribourg. That was AMAZING and I would sooo want to do it again. Unfortunately I have low blood pressure and almost passed out when we went up a thermal at such a pace that the pine trees were just under my feet one minute and toothpicks the next.

Of course, thanks to the fact that I was wavering on a black out, the guy I tandemed with took a leasurely 45 min to come back down. Through fighting to stay conscious I had the best, most wonderful, flight ever.

But back to topic, I agree with the other posters - flight time depends on how much they like you and how much free time they have on their hands.

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

As others mentioned, the flight time is dependant on the conditions. My flight was between 10 and 15 minutes. Whatever the time, it is a wonderful experience.

You can book longer flights if you prefer.

Don't forget to take your camera, with a strap to secure it. It is also worth paying extra for the pilot to take some action shots.

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

It's cold up there even when sunny- but make sure you wear comfortable clothing as you'll have to run fast and sitting back into the seat harness is a bit clumsy. Make sure you have good boots with ankle support for landing.

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

My trip was a bright August day so weather wasn't really an issue. If you don't have suitable boots they can hire you some.

I had hardly any running to do. I seemed to be in the air within just a few steps. That could be because I was a fair bit shorter than the pilot. I think I took off before him.

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

We were up in the air for a half hour or more. My wife lived through "roller coasters" with her pilot and my guy liked to strafe the sides of mountains. Highly recommend this!

WOW!

Re: Paragliding Interlaken

I really recommend Paragliding Interlaken, it's been a few years since I went, but well worth it!
