It is hard to find the day (s) where the trip is cheap

I take it you did not read an earlier thread:

How Do You Get The Lower Priced TGV Tickets To Paris?

Book early - very early ...

Today I got a ticket for only CHF112: Basel - > Bordeaux - > Geneva 2nd class for travel in end May.

well, yes. If you book 3 month in advance you get a discount. It is almost a ongoing deal. So if you see a big advertising for exactly the same thing; what's the point?

PS: I don't know where I will be or what I will do in 3 months time.
I may be dead and won't even be able to resale the tickets
