Interview in Zurich - Ideas for eating out and sightseeing afterwards?

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and I hope you can be of help.
I'm flying to Zurich this coming Friday to have a final interview with a company based there. I am staying Friday night (1st April) and would appreciate any advice on how to spend my evening to get a bit of a feel for the place.

I am 28 and would be moving out with my Fiancée if the interview goes well. It would be good to get a feeling of the vibe of the city, somewhere good to eat and ideally a place to have a few beers and enjoy the evening before flying back the next day.

I would welcome any ideas and any other advice people can offer.

Thanks in advance,
Crammy

Re: Interview in Zurich on Friday

good luck, crammy!

ok, what are you after? michelin level? or some more basic
but good n delicious restaurants?

id say: get off at bahnhof/HB station, walk down bahnhofstrasse to the end until you reach the lake. facing the lake turn left, cross the bridge and walk to bellevue. get into the "odeon" for a coffee and head down into niederdorf.
go to central and next to starbucks is the polybahn. take this up the hill to university. ask for the terrasse place "platte" (its on the right hand side, cant miss it) and enjoy the view. after that walk down the steps back into niederdorf napfplatz / spiegelgasse and ask for restaurant "turm". if you still have some energy left...walk back to central, take the bus 31 towards schlieren, get off at langstrasse/miltärstrasse and ask for longstreet bar for a beer. might be busy on friday night, but there are plenty of other bars around.

pre-inform yourself online about places and suggested route. dunno what is your type of palces you like....

Khan's is a nice Indian restaurant in Niederdorf.

There is also Bonnie Prince pub and Oliver Twist pub. You will
find a good mix of locals and English speakers.

Re: Interview in Zurich - Ideas for eating out and sightseeing afterwards?

Cheers guys, Appreciate it,

Yeah not looking for Michellin star, just some good grub with a beer really. Would be good to try and bump in to some British ex-pats over a beer so I can ask a few questions etc.

So any Ex-pat haunts would be of interest.

Thanks Again,
Crammy
