Got some time at the end of May, we want to take a vacation out of switzerland. We have a newborn kid (he'll be ~2 months old by end of May), so there are some limitations, mainly that we can't drive too far (less than 4 or 5 hours).

I'm hoping to find something that suits these:

• Somewhere where the currency is the euro, cuz i have euros to spend. I'm thinking Italy... but i'm open
• "Beach" nearby... this just means somewhere to lie down comfortably and then go for a swim. Doesn't have to be a perfect sandy beach...
• Best if where we're staying is more like a villa than a hotel, cuz we need a kitchenette-type thing for the kid

I was originally thinking near Lake Como but i just don't see anywhere that has beaches etc. This is to be more of a sedentary vacation, owing to the kid (honest ). We'll have a car but probably won't wanna use it except for getting to/from the place.

Please, got any suggestions for where to stay?

We're gonna stay at the "Agriturismo Villanova" because our friends recommended it (and they went with a small kid too). Link here.
There's a nice beach nearby (that's what i'm after), and it's just outside of cinque terre so there are lots of old towns to explore (that's what the wife is after)... plus it is in a nice green area.

We've taken one of the apartments... lets see how it goes...
