Long story short, being in Migros with a Swiss friend and telling them how weird I thought it was they sold horse meat, turned into me getting an invitation to the races .

Now I love a day out at the races, and have had many enjoyable days at Haydock. But I know it's not exactly big over here, so was wondering if anyone had any experience with it, particularly Dielsdorf? The next event is on May 8th, with the main race being the Swiss 2000 Guineas.

It's a nice day out. Nothing comparable with anything in the UK but enjoyable nevertheless. All very informal and I don't think the punters take it quite as seriously as they might back home. We went to two sessions, one in Dielsdorf and one in Aarau with our kids and we all had a good time.

Thanks Snoopy. I'm not exactly a serious punter either, just looking for a good day out. Though I have inherited a bit of knowledge and a lot of enthusiasm from my Dad and Grandad. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. Hopefully the weather is nice on the 8th, if so I'm looking forward to it

How was the horse racing? For some reason today I just had the urge to go to a meet. I'm not a serious fan but would like to go some time.
