One summer week-end in Zug

My dad has a family gathering in Zug (where his mum was born) probably in August. I will probably come with him, but not really interested to meet people as it's more 80 yo than 42 yo...

Any interesting things to visit ?

You could make an event & have some of us locals come & meet you if you are up for it.

yep, that could be a very good idea

Now I'm not sure if my mum is coming too or not. If she comes, it will change completely my plans.... as she's more interested by visiting the town than to meet my dad's cousins....

Think of all that collective knowledge that those 80 year olds have - stories from the past. I bet, that if you ask the right questions, you would have enough stories for a very interesting book by the end of the weekend - or at least one that can be handed down to future generations

sure, it could have some interest for people living in Zug.
But not for me....

That's actually a miracle my dad wants to go there.....

I would first find out if there are any others of around your age visiting with other family members. There could be others thinking the same as you.

I know what you mean with family events like this. You want to meet them for a short while but it can get a bit much if it is a long event.

I don't know the Zug area very well. I know that Cham has been mentioned as a nice place. You could take a lake trip and maybe up Rigi.
