Jodlerfest in Interlaken 16-19 June: anyone going?

I'm thinking of jumping on a train next weekend to get my yearly fix of Swiss culture and music.

Is anyone else planning on going?

I was dying to go but couldn't rearrange things to plan properly for it...Gotta make it next year but I imagine it will be a wonderful experience

Accomodations are likely to be an issue so hopefully you've planned ahead

As someone who reads French, but not German, I feel obliged to link to the French version of the announcement: Bienvenue à Interlaken pour la 28e fête fédérale du yodel. Not complaining; Switzerland is at best "sort of" multilingual; just giving the link.

Crossed my mind but someone has (I suspect with preemptive intent) proposed a romantic getaway "somewhere quiet" that weekend.

So I reckon maybe next year.

With 10,000 yodellers, flag throwers and Alphorn players, I think that it will be anything but quiet. 200,000 visitors are expected over the four days.

More details

This event is only every three years! We're going for the day tomorrow. The weather held me back today.

Re: Jodlerfest in Interlaken 16-19 June: anyone going?

So how was it?

Was at a completely loose end on Saturday and considered it but the rain was too much and only ended up going to Luzern then on to Bern instead. Saw some coverage on TV in the evening and though it sounded nice the weather looked so bad.
