Hi EFers, can someone please help me in choosing a destination for one day trips? and also what there is to do there?

I have heard Luzern is good, but dunno what kinda stuff there is to do.

By car or train?

Welcome to Switzerland. Please introduce yourself- it makes your arrival on EF much more friendly and pleasant.

I already introduced myself but anyway I am an 18 year old boy (19 soon) and I am from Egypt. I am staying for around 4 more weeks.

And I need to be travelling by public transport. Any suggestions? Also I need a few suggestions because I need 1-2 for each weekend.

You could check out the Rheinfall - it's an impressive waterfall with a bunch of other stuff to do around there. There's also a castle to visit and an adventure park (if you're into that kind of stuff).

Luzern is great, touristy things include the nearby Pilatus and Rigi mountains, which can be hiked up for free, or got up via cog railways and cable cars, the old town which is nice to walk around and maybe shop, but truth be told, it's not so big, very pretty though. Boat trips on the lake are also a nice couple of hours out.

You could find yourself a pub/cafe by the river or the lake and chill while soaking up the scenery, might even be warm enough to swim in the lake or just explore around town, plenty of things to find.

Blue Balls festival is coming up, they have free concerts outside during the day with the usual festival stalls selling a variety of stuff, food, beer, trinkets etc. Can get quite busy, but a lot of fun I find.
