Where to go with young child in Basel

Hi,

Im just wondering if there are any fun places to take my 1 year old boy while its raining in Basel. I have done lots of fun indoor activities, but i (and im sure my boy) need to get out of the house. I have taken him out for walks but with the bad weather he cant be free and run about as he likes. Are there any indoor places to go where he can play and be with other kids???

I dont drive so need to travel by bus/tram, any info would be great

Try Basel childbirth trust for some options
Also Gymboree free play time
There's okidoki in Lorrach, but that's a bit old for a 1 year old.
There's a book about places and things to do for children aroubnd Basel - can't remember details at mo but will add link when I can.

Very good question! The Dreirosen Freizeithalle maybe a good place to find other babies and children to play with (in the soft toys part), or to enjoy some trampoline jumps ;-)! Take your family pass along, you will save in the trampoline (the soft toys are free).
There are always plenty of kids when it rains so use your lunch time if possible -the quietest time to go there - ah, and there is also a restaurant/cafe where you can find simple meals or snacks with reasonable prices.
By going there you will also be helping the project itself which helps teenagers, you will see them working!

Have fun!

Re: Where to go with young child in Basel

Hi

My husband currently lives in huningue (near Basel) and myself and our 13 month old daughter are joining him in September.

I am trying to find out about groups/activities for my little girl. In the UK we go to music/singing groups and swimming lessons.

Please help!

With a 13 month old I would buy an annual pass for the zoo and the museums.

The beauty is you can then pop in to these places for an hour or so in the middle of the day without thinking you've spent a fortune for a day pass.

Cheers,
Nick
