Engelberg - Drive

Dear All,

I am planning to drive to engelberg & take the cable car to titlis. I am sure some of you might have done this before. Can you suggest best parking place which is nearer to the cable car boarding point & also the exact address to the cable car boarding point. I am totally trusting my GPS So inputs/Suggestions pls ...

Cheers.

Engelberg is at the end of a valley. Once you've fond the entry from the motorway (follow the signs for Engelberg), there's only one way to go. The Titlis cable car is on the left once you enter Engelberg proper. Lots of signs there, and a parking lot (not free - there's a ticket machine) right next to it.

Re: Engelberg - Drive

Doesn't really matter which parking lot you use as it's all very central in Engelberg anyway. Even if you do park far away and don't feel like walking there's free bus service there as well.

Re: Engelberg - Drive

it was easy to find - also there is a parking right in front of the place where i boarded the cable car to trubsee ...

The Parking charge is fixed as 5 CHF no time limit - but no overnight parking allowed. But also remember even if you enter a parking lot by mistake & wanna get out its 5 CHF only

Thanks for the pics. Its one of my favorite places in Switzerland.
If I remember correctly, there is a bar called Yucatan near the Train Station.
I have been there quite a few times and it has always been a blast.

Wild place man. I remember New Years 2007...
...around 5 in the morning...everyone was up on the tables dancing to "Play that funky music"...including the owner.

Good Times.

Can't remember if I went to the Yucatan that evening but I definitely was at Engelberg for New Years 2007..!!

Really cool to be walking through the village and stopping at the stands where they were handing out free Glühwein..!! Almost didn't make it back to our apartment that night.

I was with some friends. We went out drinking and then one of them announced his parents were gonna join us for dinner. I was quite drunk already. No idea what I said during the dinner...no idea what I had. I spoke to this person after and he told me his parents were quite amused.

Went back to the place and drank until it closed around 6 or so. Somehow all of us managed to find the way back to the hotel.

PS: The village is really awesome as well. Have you visited the Monastery / cheese factory while you were there ? Really cool place.

It's one of my favorite places to kick back on a cold winter's afternoon to enjoy a cheese fondue.

In winter, the igloo bar/restaurant up in trübsee is also one of places one should definitely check out.
