I have heard about a shopping area and plan to visit "Konstanz" this weekend.

if anybody had been there already,
please provide details about - Location and Shopping options there.

i have a doubt ,whether the shops are open on sunday or not?
Is my GA card valid for the transport till there?

The GA is valid up to Konstanz Bhf via the IR or any other train. About 1 minute before approaching Konstanz Bhf, look left and you will see in big letters LAGO shopping mall.

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a supermarket in Konstanz other than Kaufland ( which I found only okay)?

If you can drag yourself out of the Lago centre, the town of Konstanz is actually a really nice place to walk around with pleasant pedestrianised streets with interesting shops.

Yes, actually the old town Konstanz has lots of very nice small streets. Where you can either just take a wonderful stroll or do the shopping.

For me the train ride lasts the same to Zurich or to Konsanz. So I usually prefer Konstanz, where I get my occasional hair cut super cheap
