How have you got a Priority Pass with a Gold Bonviva? Both the CS website and intranet say it is a feature of the Platinum package only...
I got the Platinum Amex with my Bonviva Gold package...Priority Pass comes with Platinum Amex. The deals have changed since my card was issued.

It depends on the package. My own one includes free unlimited parking at the airport, check-in via business class (regardless of the class flying), free coffee, breakfast, snacks and internet. All for euros 200 a year.
What package is that?

Re: How frequently do you use airline lounges?

In case you are interested, Lufthansa/Swiss have run a promotion this year that gives silver status with their programme if you take 30 flights this year with one of the Lufthansa group airlines...i.e. not necessarily dependent on distance travelled....

The silver status gives you access to the business lounges and increased baggage allowance etc....

It would be nice if frequent flier schemes actually rewarded frequent fliers and not just ones who go to Southeast Asia/Australasia twice a year. I'm a very frequent flier, but on a 90 minute route I haven't even racked up the points for flight socks this year.

Still, the normal pleb waiting area at Basel is luxury itself compared to being trapped in one of "London" Luton's glass containment cubes of hell for two hours. If Ryanair made airport lounges...

Re: How frequently do you use airline lounges?

I'm Eliet+ with Sky Team which gives me access to all of their lounges around the world which I use whenever I can... Nice with cold champagne at CDG or quite ok food offering at AMS. Best so far is in Seoul where the food is outstanding. GVA on the other hand (Air France Lounge) is a little bit on the small side and a bit dated...

The only time an airline lounge would be of any use is when there are flight delays. The dust cloud or airline strikes.
If you can afford to buy a business class ticket or lounge access, just to get a free drink you should have enough money to buy a drink in the bar.
Just a room full of strangers who think they are important. and btw are these people not those last on the plane making us all wait.
Not true - I suspect I've flown more times than anyone on this forum who's not a Pilot or Cabin Crew (1200+ sectors), and I can say Lounges are invaluable to get business done, have a rest between flights, yes have a drink as well, but really to have some peace and quiet.

Re: Last passengers on the plane.

As long as you're on-board 10 minutes before STD (Scheduled Time of Departure), it's not a problem. The passengers last on the aircraft are normally transit passengers that are running late from previous flights.
Be grateful they have made your flight else you really would be delayed waiting for Baggage to be reconciled and offloaded

Now it's your turn.

Swiss have got a special offer right now. Only 100 CHF upgrade fee per segment in Europe:

https://www.swiss.com/countries/CH/e...de_europe.aspx

And you can bring back 64kg of Marmite in your Check-in baggage. You think I'm joking?
I'm not - it's 2 pieces at 32kg maximum now for Biz Class passengers.
Enjoy

Aha ! But then you risk being charged with supply and not just possession. Have you any idea what they do to Marmite smugglers in Swiss prisons ?

30 flights on any Star Alliance carrier get you StarAlliance Gold (or very near, if you only ever collect the 500 min miles in economy) on Aegean Airlines.

I think 30 flights on any carrier (within a certain time limit) will get you some sort of award.

It definitely has to go in the checked luggage. I've seen it refused for hand luggage at security.
