Wish upon a shooting star... or 1000

Just noticed and article regarding Saturday:

http://earthsky.org/space/astronomer...r-october-2011

In short, Saturday evening there will be around 1000 shooting stars an hour near the constellation Draco.

So if the weather is good it will be free and beautiful entertainment for everybody

Enjoy!

Unfortunately it coincides with an almost full moon, so many will go unseen

Lived in the Jura when I was 13 and got to see the meteor shower of '93. Was amazing.

"up and slightly left" from Polaris/North Star

Polaris is the right hand star of Ursa Minor in this diagram (which is deliberately upside down to show the perspective when you're looking due north), they'll come mostly out of the triangular head of Draco...
