Autumn fair in Romainmotier (VD - a beautiful little medieval town) - sale and demo of trational crafts, both Sat and Sun.

Queen cow contest (combat de Reines) Sunday 16th in Sugnens VD from 10am.

Bénichon (traditonal fair) in Chatel St Denis (FR) Today 9-16.00 artisan market. Sunday at 15.oo cortège on the theme of local crafts.

Today at the botanical garden of Fribourg UNI - sale and exhibition of old varieties of apples and other orchard fruit.

Pringy (FR) at the demo cheese place, daily demonstration of local crafts 10-12 and 13-17. until 1st of November. Sat 15th and Sun 16th demo of manufacture of miniature wooden chalets. www.lamaisondugruyere.ch

Val D'Illiez (VS) traditonal rural fair, with lots of traditional music and dancing and costumes today and tomorrow.

Les Diablerets VD farmers market, exhibition and talks on 'woodland and pasture' in harmony. Today and tomorrow at the Maison des Congrès.

Chestnut Festival in Fully VS. Music, craft demos, food, visit of the chestnut plantations, etc all day today and tomorrow.

Similar as above, but in Gryon (VD) from 17.00 today.

Geneva/Presinge - today 11-19 local produce and tonight 'barn dance' 19-2am. Sunday market of local produce, demos and tastings 9.30-17.00
At the Ferme de l'Abbaye.

Sunday Fete de Coing - quince festival. Brunch served with lots of quince recipes, both savoury and sweet, cold and hot. Small market at bar. Need to reserve for tomorrows brunch on 0788243057. From 10am at the 'battoir'.

Currently at Chateau de Chillon - exhibition on Witch Hunts from the 15 to 17C.
