Places to see in France from Zurich by car

I would like to visit France for both seeing nices places and also for doing shopping ?So could you recommend me some places in France close to Zurich?

The Ballon d'Alsace is nice to drive around, IIRC (it has been seven years since I was there), there are some cute restaurants and cafes to grab lunch.

Come down to sunny [well, wet, windy, wild and wintry at the moment] Evian. Lots of lovely things to do and see - you can also shop at many different supermarkets [please send a private EM for a list and directions]. Makes for a fantastic day out, especially the last section driving around the lake.

Colmar is lovely (already mentioned by another poster). I like Mulhouse - they have a good Christmas market too.

Both are very close to Zurich!
Further afield, Dijon is also worth checking out.
