Day Trips from Basel

Hi, I'm 20 and on a year placement from my university, working in Basel. On the weekends my hostel is quite quiet and I feel quite lonely / sad.

I just wanted to ask two qyestions, to help me plan my last 7 months here in basel.

1. Where would you recommend I visit for a day trip on the weekends, either by train or Basel tram/bus.

2. Where would you recommend to see around Basel, if I have only a few hours etc. Anywhere thats accessible by tram or bus. Or local train.

Thanks,
Mike.

Re: Day Trips from Basel

and maybe register and check out Basel group with www.couchsurfing.org. It might be more fun to visit those with locals, or show visitors those places.
