Travel Zurich to Frankfurt?? Ideas??

Hi all,
Just tried to look up information for tickets on the SBB site.
Travel from Zurich to Frankfurt.
Cost with half tax card comes to 170 CHF return on 2nd class.

Looked up another site, group discussions, some one there had written he went on the same route paying 80 Euro return.

Where am I seeing wrong? And how to avail these cheaper offers?
Tried searching the SBB site. Got no answer there.

Thanks

Re: Travel Zurich to Frankfurt?? Ideas??

I have the impression that sometimes if you to the travel center and buy the "physical" ticket they have access to different offers, for instance for milan they sold me a very cheap saver ticket that didn't appear on the internet.

I often find that I'm paying more at the physical locations over using machines/internet.

It was probably a supersaver ticket offer which is no longer available. SBB are running supersavers to Germany again, but they are nowhere near as good value as last year - the savings this year are much less.

If you are flexible on your dates of travel, however, you can reduce the return cost to 120CHF, I noticed.

Re: Travel Zurich to Frankfurt?? Ideas??

If you buy early enough, it will be cheap.

Try www.bahn.ie ( Europa-Spezial Schweiz ) and / or

SBB Super Saver to Germany

http://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holiday...rice-tips.html

There is a cheap bus EUR9 Frankfurt to Zurich as well:

http://www.touring.de/Bus-nach-Zuerich.1451.0.html?&L=0

There is another Frankfurt in DE ( which I think is better )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankfurt_(Oder)

So do not get confused!
